I am interested in exploring the relationship between cell types across species in order to understand their evolutionary lineage, and the evolution of novel functionality. Do cell types follow a phylogenetic relationship in a way analogous to animal evolution? If so,...
What is all of this fuss about cells?
A cell is the building block of living organisms (what about viruses? are they like Schrödinger’s cat? :p). Cells have all sorts of roles in organisms such as find, obtain, deliver & metabolise nutrients etc. Currently, there are three domains for the...
FILLED: EvoCELL Short Early Stage Researcher (MSCA) at the EMBL Heidelberg
Identification of piRNAs and microRNAs involved in cell lineages.
We are looking for a dedicated Early Stage Researcher to join the EvoCELL Network to establish protocols for small RNA expression studies in Platynereis dumerelii, to obtain a first view on the diversity and distribution of microRNAs in individual cell types, building on the cellular expression atlas. The 13 months position is part of the EvoCELL Marie Skłodowska-Curie Innovative training Network (www.evocell-itn.eu).

FILLED: Short-term Early Stage Researcher (MSCA)
A 9 month short term fellowship is available under the co-supervision of Evelyn Houliston and
Richard Copley at the Villefranche-sur-mer Developmental Biology Laboratory (LBDV) near Nice in
France, within the Marie Curie ITN “EvoCELL” (https://evocell-itn.eu).
